KBM Aviation- Air Tractor Survey Pilot/Operator

Based out of Thunder Bay International Airport, KBM Aviation comprises a fleet of ten piston and turbine fixed-wing aircraft servicing our growing 702/703 and FTU operations. Aerial Survey includes missions such as aerial photography, LiDAR, thermal, Geophysical, and ocular surveys all over Canada and beyond. We also operate charter services, flight training, maintenance/AMO in Northwestern Ontario.
KBM Aviation is hiring for a unique role as survey pilot on AT502/504. The position may or may not require relocation to Thunder Bay, and the flexible schedule will be determined based on the individual. Pilots generally fly 300-500 hrs per year. Pay includes a base, flight, and per diem, with accommodations and travel provided. Comprehensive benefits and health insurance are provided, as well as an annual bonus/profit share. Salary range $60,000 – $80,000.
Air Tractor survey pilots will be expected to complete survey projects anywhere in Canada, the US or elsewhere, in a timely, safe, and complete manner. This will involve either single pilot or 2 crew operations which requires the candidate to become proficient with all aspects of project planning and execution. Some notable duties include:
- Willing and able to operate survey system and aircraft on various survey missions from several days to months
- Flight planning, analysis of suitable survey weather conditions
- Coordinating with various regulatory agencies to ensure compliant and efficient flights
- Responsibility for quality data collection and delivery
- Coordination of travel needs for crew and aircraft including maintenance.
- Ability to maintain high levels of awareness over extended periods (5 hr flights)
Minimum Qualifications:
- CPL/ATPL
- Total Time 2000
- PIC 1000
- Tailwheel 500
Preferences:
- Survey or other special mission 1000
- Time on turbine tailwheel aircraft
- Bilingual
- Experience operating hardware/software systems
