KBM Resources Group- Operations Manager – Saskatchewan

Since 1974 we have been headquartered in Thunder Bay, Ontario on the north shore of Lake Superior. In 2011, KBM opened a satellite office in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Job Description:
We are currently seeking a full-time Operations Manager based in Prince Albert, SK. As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for day-to-day office management, high-level project management and supporting a variety of field work programs. You will report directly to KBM’s Principal of Field Services. KBM’s Prince Albert Office supports a wide array of projects and clients ranging from silviculture operations and large-scale forest inventory programs to utility inspections, desktop-based GIS, and ground support for KBM’s Aviation team. The successful candidate must have a strong background in commercial forestry operations, experiencing managing a small contingent of staff, and a willingness to learn new skills and support projects within KBM’s diverse range of service offerings.
The Operations Manager position will include both office-based and field work components. A willingness to travel is a requirement. Office duties may include local office HR, local office staffing, client engagement, proposal writing, preparing client invoices and other month-end tasks. Field work tasks may include supervising silviculture activities (e.g., tree plants, regeneration assessments, etc), forest health surveys, forest inventory data collection and GNSS data collection. Certain field work projects will require travel in small fixed-wing or rotary wing aircraft.
The tentative start date for this position is Friday October 27th, 2025.
Qualifications:
- Accreditation as a Registered Professional Forester in Saskatchewan (or the ability to obtain accreditation);
- Degree or Diploma in Forestry or Natural Resource Management;
- Minimum 2-years related forestry experience;
- Minimum 2-years project management experience;
- Minimum 2-years experience managing administrative operations and directing staff;
- Effective written and verbal communication skills;
- Competent within the meaning of the Saskatchewan Employment Act;
- Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
Other skills that are considered assets include:
- Demonstrated experience using GNSS systems for navigation and data collection;
- Proficient use of ESRI suite products (ArcPro, ArcMap, AGOL, Field Maps, Survey 123, etc);
- Demonstrated experience working outdoors in remote locations.
Compensation:
The estimated salary range for this position is $75,000-$90,000 per year (dependent on experience and qualifications). Compensation includes competitive benefits packages and optional RSP contribution matching.
